I get an adrenaline rush when I’m interviewing people, especially when it involves entertainment stories. My mind is constantly working, and apparently, so is my face.

I do a ton of research in advance, and I try to avoid looking at notes. I listen closely and in addition to what I have planned, I make sure to include follow-up questions. I bring my personality and my genuine interest in the topic and what the person has to say. I must admit, I get really animated. I naturally talk with my hands, but I never realized what faces I make during interviews, until recently.

I attended a press junket for the CW show Jane The Virgin (it’s a great show, by the way) and I interviewed the show’s main characters.

I had to log the video when I returned to work so I could put together some preview stories to promote the show.

Each time I paused the video, I was making a funny face. So I scrolled through the interviews and captured some of my favorite facial expressions. I had to laugh out loud at myself. Enjoy!
